Tiny Bites 07: Gord Downie & Letting Go

October 19, 2017
Gord Downie + Letting Go | Tiny Ambitions

I would say happy Thursday, but this week has been a tough one!

This week’s episode is going to be a little different. I fully planned to talk about the connection between our stuff and our pasts, building off of the blog post that I wrote this week.

However, something happened on Wednesday that is much more pressing. Gord Downie, frontman for the Tragically Hip, passed away from a long and public battle with incurable brain cancer.

This week’s episode of Tiny Bites is dedicated to Gord and his incredible legacy.

This is sad news Britt 🙁 Given my nationality and complete ignorance of the music scene, I haven’t heard of Gord Downie but it sounds like he meant a lot to you, and to Canada. The scale of this seems similar to the passing of Steve Irwin here in Australia back in 2006. He was a national icon and the news of his sudden death was a huge shock to everyone. Sending good vibes 🙂

Thanks, Lisa! He definitely did mean a lot to Canada. I remember when Steve passed away – it’s moving when a country can put aside its differences and mourn together.

Hey! I'm Britt. I write about living a tiny, simple, intentional life. Because life doesn't need to be lived big.
