Tiny Bites 01: Minimal Living in Any Space

August 24, 2017
Tiny Bites 01 - Minimal Living in Any Space | Tiny Ambitions

Welcome to the inaugural episode of Tiny Bites – bite sized discussions on the simple life, minimalism and tiny houses.

In this episode of Tiny Bites, I’m exploring what it means to be a minimalist in your living space. This episode is based on my blog post this week – Moving on Up: From 603 to 1800 sqft. I think there is often a perception that minimalism means you have to live in a tiny house. But, based on the comments I got on the blog this week, that is far from the case!

I’d love to know your thoughts! Does minimalism extend to the size of your living space?

“This episode is brought to you by my bedroom floor” haha I love this! Definitely keep making these – I love hearing your thoughts on minimalist living. Best of luck in your move and living in a bigger apartment 🙂 I’m looking forward to the next episode!

Oh I loved your first podcast Britt! It’s lovely to be able to put a ‘real person’ voice to your blog voice, and this was a great follow-on from your previous post, too. It’s interesting that you had some unexpected comments on your last post when it comes to being a minimalist in one’s living space. I am so often reminded by things like this that there isn’t a one-size-fits-all minimalism out there. I know there are plenty of minimalists out there who love tiny houses or smaller living spaces in general but I can also imagine there are some who prefer larger homes just because they like having more room to move about and the feel of a wide, open space. Minimalism definitely extends to the size of my living space but I’m still really not sure what the ‘right’ size is for us! We haven’t been satisfied with the size of our current place, nor with the previous one, so I’m hoping next time around we will feel just right with the space we have. Looking forward to the next Tiny Bite! 🙂

Thanks Lisa! That’s what I love about minimalism- it can be whatever you want it to be (although, I do sometimes forget that). Finding the right space can be tricky, I hope you guys find something you like the next time around!

Hey! I'm Britt. I write about living a tiny, simple, intentional life. Because life doesn't need to be lived big.
