I did a thing, you guys! I joined Anchor and, somewhat accidentally, started the Tiny Ambitions podcast. But, let’s pretend I meant to do it. I’ve been wanting to have a space for audio for a while because I think some things are easier to talk about than write about. I think Anchor will be the best tool for that!
If you don’t know what Anchor is (I didn’t until this week), it’s basically like any social media platform, but exclusively for audio content. There are three content options. You can create ‘clips’ that live in your ‘station’ for 24 hours. You can turn those clips into ‘episodes’ that live forever. And you can turn those episodes into podcasts that live in the regular podcast places (like iTunes and Google Play Music).
I want to use my Anchor station as a complement to this written space, as a way to have more unstructured, impromptu conversations with you guys. Within the Anchor app, you can ‘call-in’ to any station and leave an audio question or comment – how cool is that?
Here’s how I’m thinking I’ll use it.
- I will continue to post once a week here on the blog.
- I will also create a short podcast accompaniment (aka a Tiny Bite) for that post, exclusively on Anchor.
I would love that Anchor episode to go out on the Thursday after the blog post, so if you have additional comments or questions, or if I have any further thoughts on the topic, I can address them. I’m also open to doing one-off episodes if you guys have something specific you want me to address.
All in all, I’m excited about this tool, and I’m even more excited to get to share it with you! That’s why I joined in the first place – to give myself a less structured outlet to share. The added bonus of this is that you guys will get to hear my horribly awkward voice. Win-win!
You can listen to the episodes in the Anchor app (App Store, Google Play), in Google Play Music and Apple Podcasts, and on the web. I would recommend joining Anchor and downloading the app, though. That way, you can call in directly and ask questions! And, if I decide to share any random tidbit clips, that’s the only place you’ll be able to hear them.
We’ll be back to our regularly scheduled blog programming next week! If you missed this week’s post, I shared what I learned when someone stole my credit card. It’s a super fun read.
